Muammar Gaddafi The Hero

Probably the Lion of Africa may be assassinated.

Dennis M. Mwasalanga

Muammar Gaddafi is compared to the Lion of Africa who regardless having so many elements of dictatorship including being Libya’s president since 1969 after throwing King Idris, is the leader who serves as an example in fighting against the imperialist power.
The sense may be considered somewhat pathetic, but western states never wish directly good things for Africa. They always show interest to strategic areas where they can be benefited in one way or another by looting the African treasures.
Consider the wars in Sudan where the country is reach in oil, in Algeria-oil, and other states, but now they are vowing for Gaddafi to step out.
It is hard though to prove the tactics used by westerners to deceive some Africans who sometimes involve in crashes without clear. There are some rumors that in Libya it is oil that made those western powers to force people to raise crashes against Gaddafi’s governance.
Some people, who were interviewed by media, claimed that they had no sever problems as compared to other African countries. Some of the things which can convincingly be causes of demonstrations and unrest are corruption and long time leadership of Muammar Gaddafi.
But on critical analysis, if a leader stays in the position for a long time and the citizens are provided with better services, it is not a big deal. A leader is there not to lead in a short time a quit, rather is there to lead people achieve sustainable development.
Leaving those arguments apart, the situation in Libya shows no mercy for Libyans as the NATO soldiers kill the citizens as they continue to try to assassinate Gaddafi.
Also, the Gaddafi’s side continues to fight with the rivals who are against the Government and the battle between Gaddafians and the NATO causes more unrest for the Libyans.
Probably Muammar Gaddafi may be defeated as early 30th of April his narrow escape to NATO’s missile strike attempted to kill him in his Tripoli’s house, but contrary killed one of his sons, Saif al-Arab, together with three young grandchildren is a sign of hardships to Gaddafi and his family.
The man regardless the western powers including United States, Britain and France bombing Libyan positions for more than a month he said he will never quit. May be that increases the anger for western powers to use more powers to deal with Gaddafi.
Hopefully after detaining him they will bring him to the International Criminal Court for trials and probably he will be assassinated as Saddam Hussein.
Gaddafi’s recall for a peaceful talk to NATO can be a sign of his hope to surrender to the United Nations. But as we recall his words that he will always fight with the imperialists, he defeated them before, he defeats them now, and he will defeat them in the future. It’s hard to believe that he will ever surrender.
Back to History Muammar Gaddafi may be compared to “Mtemi Mkwawa of Hehe” in Iringa Tanzania, who fought with the Germany up to the final point that he did not agree to surrender, and then he would better kill himself that being detained by the westerners. He killed himself and died before detention.
No body knows what will Gaddafi decide to do, but he serves as the example of strict leaders who believe that no body is entitled to lead Libya more than himself. Libyans have good lives but corruption as long time leadership is not adequate reasons for overthrowing someone from leadership.

Leading for a longtime is the history of Africa and many other states since the beginning of the World, and corruption has become all nations song, many pretend to fight it, but in real sense most of the leaders are just like movie stars, they don’t fight it, but have joined it because they can’t stop it.
More than 30,000 people are said to have been died, and the death poll has increased by 10,000 after NATO started operation in Tripoli to search for Gaddafi early on April. With such operations in Libya, there are possibilities that Moammar Gaddafi will soon be on NATO’s hands or be killed. But Gaddafi will remain the Legend for those who are against western powers violence.
